During this month and next, I´m going to be brief when writing my posts, as both you and me have more interesting things to do than looking at a screen...
Following on from last week´s topic, this week I´ve been able to walk the walk and stay a bit more relaxed in my day-to-day, though that doesn´t mean I´ve been just sitting on my hands doing nothing, on the contrary! It´s been a very productive week.
But it´s true that I´ve been a lot more selective when deciding what to do (and more importantly, what not to do) with my time and energy at each moment. This has allowed me, on the one hand, to avoid overloading myself, and on the other hand, to be able to savour each moment a little more, even when doing things like pottering around the house, working, or running errands, nothing out of the ordinary.
I think this is a good moment to show you this little picture I found one day in a restaurant in Bray, displaying the quote below:

To live is the rarest thing. Most people exist in the world. Most people exist, that is all, that is all.
Oscar Wilde
So then, what´s the difference between existing and living? As I see it, living is existing "on purpose", with openness and curiosity, and also with an intentionality that comes from knowing what we value most in life, and acting accordingly.
But for that, we need to carve out time. And how do we carve out time? By being selective:
Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone.
Lin Yutang – The importance of living
The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.
What are your thoughts on this? What can you eliminate this week to give yourself some more space?
