According to some sources, today, September 21st, is world gratitude day. And I say according to some sources because sometimes these "world" and "international" days depend on who you´re talking to... For example, the "International Book Day" we Spaniards celebrate on April 23rd doesn´t coincide with the "World Book Day" that´s celebrated in some of the English-speaking countries, which falls on the first Thursday in March.
And from reading the internet, I gather that Gratitude Day, which is today, should not be confused with Than-You-Day, which is January 11th... I´m not a hundred per cent sure of the difference between the two, but, to me, gratitude is more about appreciating all the good things we have, as well as feeling happy and generally thankful for them, while "thank you" refers to a much more tangible action, something we say to specific people because of the positive impact they´ve had on our lives.
In any case, the way I see it is that any day is a good day for us to take a moment, do a bit of reflection and be thankful (both in general and in particular) for what we have and what happens to us in this life.

Gratitude is one of the recurring topics in this blog. I believe it´s a fundamental habit; it allows us to make more progress in our lives while reducing suffering along the way. Here are a few articles that can give you ideas on how to approach it:
- Thankful and proud
- Collecting quotes
- Reprogram your life, episode 3: Configure your start up and shut down sequences
- Reprogram your life, episode 6: Decide which apps to install
- Thank you, thank you, thank you
So, what are you thankful for today?
